We offer both class based, and 1-1 training. we deliver our own training syllabus designed to produce well trained dogs alongside The Kennel Clubs Good Citizen Dog Scheme.
Our Training environment is above all safe and secure, and also light heart and fun.
Our courses are designed and structured to aid you and your dog in building an excellent working relationship between each other whist progressing at a speed suitable to both you and your dog.
We also offer Residential Dog Training.
At Johnston K9 we are confident that we have a training regime to help you give your puppy the best start in life or correct any behaviour you deem as a problem.
For more competitive handlers, we develop a regime that constantly challenges you and your dog to reach the highest standards in your chosen sport whilst still having fun!
Canine Nutrition
Johnston K9 has its own independent in-house Canine Nutritionist on hand to give help and advice with regards to feeding and potential allergy advice, so we have got you covered there too.

Our History
Johnston K9 is the East Midlands Premier Dog Training School. My parents have run Dog Training Classes, workshops and training events since the 1980's. I became invovled in these classes as soon as I was old enough, culminating in me taking full control around 2000. This was the year of Johnston K9s official creation.
Over time we expanded from a 1 night a week club, to the successful dog training company we are today, offering class based tuition 4 days a week, split over 9 different classes.
Recipients of The Midlands Enterprise Award for Best Dog Training Company - East Midlands - 2021, 2022 & 2023, alongside the Customer Service Excellent Award 2021, 2022 & 2023 from the same organisation.
Owned and operated by 2nd generation dog trainer Gareth Johnston, he and his team of trainers are able to draw on their collective experience in a range of disciplines in order to offer professional and domestic dog training to organisation and individuals worldwide.
Johnston K9 is dedicated to dogs and their owners. By utilising a variety of balanced training methods and a range of training environments we will help you build and maintain an excellent relationship with your dog and acquire a detailed and extensive foundation of knowledge to aid you through out your dog's life.
