TRAINING

TRAINER - LISA COOPER

Lisa is one of the newer members of the Johnston K9 team. She decided to become a trainer after training her own puppy with Johnston K9 and is currently working towards the KCGCDS Examiner Award. As a qualified teacher Lisa can draw upon her experience in the classroom to help build owners’ confidence and enable them to succeed.

Lisa grew up with dogs, in particular German Shepherds, but later found an affinity for the smaller breeds when her family rescued a Miniature Schnauzer called Poppy. Today, Lisa owns Albert, a black Miniature Schnauzer, and Newton, a Chihuahua. Both dogs have progressed through the KC Good Citizen Scheme and achieved GOLD standard, a testament to Lisa’s ability as a trainer.

Lisa says “I love dog training. I enjoy getting people to reflect on their behaviour and how it impacts on their dog’s behaviour, once people realise the connection it is amazing. It is massively rewarding to see the progress even the most boisterous dog can make. I’m extremely proud at the end of every test night when the owners' hard work gets rewarded.”
